Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Kagemichi is a game made by Equival, based in Israel ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described here. This policy covers the Kagemichi app and this website.
2. What we collect
You do not have to give us any personal data. You can play as a guest with statistics turned off. Without an account, your progress stays on your phone only.
- Account (optional). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account ID and the details they share (for Google: name, email address and profile photo link). Firebase Authentication also creates a random installation ID.
- Saved progress (cloud save). When you are signed in, your characters, gear and progress are stored with your account in Cloud Firestore.
- Usage statistics and crash reports (only if you allow them). How you play (for example fights played and results), performance, crash details, device and app details, language, approximate location from your IP address, and random IDs, through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. With the same permission the game loads updated game settings through Firebase Remote Config. You can turn this off any time in Settings > Privacy.
- Technical requests. When the game starts it downloads a small settings file (app-config.json) from our servers and may download new game content. Like any web request, this gives our hosting providers your device's IP address. These requests carry no account or analytics ID.
- Playing in your browser. The browser version of the game, at /play on this website, runs scripts in your browser and downloads its files only from this website. Like any web request, this gives our hosting provider your device's IP address. It has no sign-in, cloud save, player statistics or crash reports, and it sets no cookies and saves no data in your browser's storage. When it starts, it makes one request to this website (/api/hello) that collects no personal data: we count page loads anonymously (only which site the game was loaded from and whether you are in a region where it plays as a guest only, with no ID, IP address or cookie) and keep the count for 3 months; block that address to opt out, and the game still runs.
- Support messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message.
Some data stays on your phone and is not sent to us, such as your privacy choices, guest progress and the age range you may share through your app store's age feature. The pages of this website outside /play set no cookies and run no scripts.
3. How we use it
We use personal data to run the game, your account and cloud save; to fix bugs and improve the game, only if you allow statistics and crash reports; to answer your messages; to keep the game secure and prevent abuse; and to comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or let others use the game or website to track you across other apps or websites. The game has no ads.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers that run parts of the game for us: Google (Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) and Cloudflare (this website and our servers).
- Apple or Google when you sign in with them, under their own privacy policies.
- Authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
- A buyer or successor if the game or our business is transferred.
5. Where it is processed
We are in Israel. Our service providers store and process data in the United States, Europe and other countries where they operate, under their data protection terms. If you play as a guest with statistics turned off, only the technical requests in section 2 leave your phone.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and saved progress: until you delete your account.
- Usage statistics and crash reports: a limited period (currently a few months), then deleted automatically.
- Support messages: as long as needed to handle your request.
- Data about a child under 13: see section 9.
7. Account deletion
Delete your account in the game: Settings > Account > Delete account. This deletes your account and saved progress from our servers and your progress and settings on that phone, and turns off statistics and crash reports. You can also ask us by email; see how to delete your account. Backup copies are removed later on our providers' schedule. Statistics and crash reports are not tied to your account; to have them deleted, email us the analytics ID shown in Settings > Privacy before you reset it or delete your account.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or limit its use, and to withdraw consent. You can withdraw consent to statistics and crash reports at any time in Settings > Privacy. For any other request, email us (shonp@equival.io). We may need to confirm the request is yours. You may also complain to your data protection authority, such as Israel's Privacy Protection Authority.
9. Children
Kagemichi is for players aged 13 and up and is not directed to children under 13. Where your app store shares an age range showing a player is under 13, the game offers no sign-in and no statistics or crash reports, keeps progress on the phone only, and deletes any account signed in on that phone. Under 16, statistics and crash reports stay off. A parent who believes we hold data about a child under 13 can email us (shonp@equival.io) to review or delete it.
10. Security and changes
We use reasonable measures, such as encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure. We may update this policy; we will post the new version here with a new date and, for important changes, tell you in the game.
11. How to reach us
